A worldwide network of "fraternities", small groups of 5 to 9 men who journey through seasonal challenges to grow closer to God. Our next seasonal challenge begins on January 5, 2026 and lasts until Easter Sunday on April 5, 2026.
At Our Lady of Grace, we have two Exodus 90 fraternities comprised of men of various ages, marital status, and stages in their faith journey. And we always welcome new men interested in growing closer to God alongside a group of supportive fraternity "brothers".
Exodus 90 includes various disciplines of prayer and asceticism. The key thing is that you experience Exodus 90 as part of a fraternity of like-minded men from Our Lady Of Grace who are on the same journey. You don't do it alone.
You go through Exodus 90 at your own pace and you do what you can. And you're likely to build some meaningful friendships along the way.
Don't be intimidated! We'll help you get started with baby steps and stay with you throughout the 90-day journey. Nobody does it perfectly -- the focus is on incremental growth in your spiritual life. And the impact can be life changing.
Prayer is essential to know where God is leading you and where God is asking you to lead your family and friends.
During Exodus 90, you aspire to practice:
Daily silent prayer.
Reading and reflecting on scripture.
Daily examination of conscience.
Asceticism consists of acts of self-denial. The ascetic disciplines laid out in Exodus 90 help us to detach from things of this world and grow closer to God—from that which will never truly satisfy to the only one who does.
During Exodus 90, you target ascetic practices such as:
Taking short, cold showers.
Practicing regular, intense exercise.
Abstaining from alcohol, desserts, sweets, and eating between meals.
Abstaining from television, movies, and televised sports.
Abstaining from video games.
Using computers only for work, school, and essential tasks (such as paying bills).
Using mobile devices only for essential communications.
Observing Wednesdays and Fridays as days of fasting (for example, abstaining from meat, eating smaller meals).
You journey through Exodus 90 as a member of a fraternity -- a small group of between 5 and 9 men. The fraternity is an essential part of the Exodus 90 journey, providing mutual support, encouragement, and authentic community.
During Exodus 90, you stay in touch with your fraternity through:
Attending one-hour weekly fraternity meetings to pray, share brief "field reports", and discuss common action items.
Checking in with another fraternity member throughout the week.
Saint Dominic once said, “A man who governs his passions is master of the world. We must either rule them or be ruled by them.” When considering Exodus 90 you need to decide if you're fulfilled with your current state or looking for an exodus from the status quo.
